In November of 2016, Central Virginia lost a passionate friend of early childhood education with the passing of Julia Broome. A longtime Central VAAEYC (formerly CVAEYC) board member, Julia mentored a generation of local early childhood educators through her teaching at the former childcare occupations program at CATEC, and as an instructor at PVCC. The Central VAAEYC board is pleased to honor her contributions by designating our professional development grants as the Julia Broome Memorial Grant.
